I loved "The Iron Giant" and if you haven't seen it, you should. Brad Bird has a genius for cinematic story telling in the animation genre. Other examples: Brad Bird's "The Incredibles" for Pixar... I still marvel at "Ratatouille", I thoroughly enjoyed it as I watched it, but couldn't see how they could end well. When it did, I turned to the person sitting next to me and said "Brad Bird is a genius". Read this article about the Iron Giant and watch the movie.
