Apple's online store currently says orders for the 27-inch iMac will be shipped in two weeks, which means the machines would not likely arrive until after the Christmas holiday. News of the delay was reported earlier by Apple news sites including Apple Insider.
The delays come as new retail sales data show that Apple desktop computers are surging in popularity.
I'm now a Mac... a 27" iMac to be specific, and loving it. I've had no troubles and the HUGE screen is wonderful to work with. I'll blog my move from Windows to the Mac over the holidays when I have more time... Cheers!

I Stumbled across Tal Wilkenfeld while looking for a Charlie Parker album on iTunes. As I scanned the "Listeners Also Bought" box and saw all the usual suspects (Victor Wooten, Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, etc...) Tal's, name caught my eye. (don't ask me why a line of bass players showed up... I just searched for "Au Privave" and their they were...) I've never heard of her but you can listen to some of her cuts here. I highly recommend the album. She's a very talented bass player and the music is interesting and fun.

ITunes is also facing pressure from competing services that allow users to listen to "streaming" music either cheaply or free on computers or portable, Internet-connected devices like the iPhone or iPod touch.
No kidding... I really like the the Lala website for streaming music but the LaLa Music Mover keeps choking on my > 11,000 music files I'm trying to sync with the service. I'm thinking there needs to be some major investment in infrastructure at LaLa.
